ABA STONIER GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BANKING ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH THE WHARTON SCHOOL

March 11, 2011

WASHINGTON — The ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking, the nation’s only national graduate banking school, has announced a partnership with the Wharton School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The Wharton School is ranked as the nation’s number one business school in the U.S. by the Wall Street Journal.

The partnership, which takes effect at Stonier’s upcoming session in June 2011, provides Stonier students with direct access to Wharton faculty and its leading edge research, knowledge base and repository of thought leadership.  Wharton faculty members will provide leadership training for bank executives preparing to take the helms of their organizations.

Faculty members include Mario Moussa, PhD, MBA, who has been named Stonier’s academic director.  He complements an outstanding Stonier professional faculty that presents a curriculum focused on leadership, strategic planning, economics and financial management.  Graduates of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking will receive a Stonier diploma in addition to a Wharton Leadership certificate.

The ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking has been preparing future leaders of the banking industry for 75 years.  Students traditionally hold the titles of vice president or senior vice president.   Twenty percent are executive vice presidents, chairmen, or CEOs.  All are considered rising stars in their organizations and represent more than 45 states and 15 foreign countries. To date, Stonier has trained more than 20,000 of the nation’s top banking executives and government regulators, many of whom have reached the pinnacle of their organizations.
